Every beauty addict needs certain products in her beauty arsenal. Here are the things you shouldn't be without, and some recomendations on what products are the best.
1. Moisturizer: Especially now that it's winter, moisturizer is a must. The winter air can dry out skin, which can wreak havoc on your looks. That's why you need to use moisturizer before any other beauty product. A really good one to try is Clean and Clear Morning Burst moisturizer.
2.Concealer might be the most important makeup product you can use. Even if you don't wear any other makeup, concealer can still brighten your face and get rid of imperfections. You should make sure the shade is right for your skin tone, and for your undereye area it could be slightly lighter then your skin tone. My favorite concealer is Cover Girl Fresh Complexion. It covers all my blemishes, and really brightens up the underye area. And, it lasts a really long time. Definitely a plus.
3.Pressed Powder: Another staple in your beauty supplies is pressed powder. It sets whatever makeup you have on, and can also lay a foundation for adding makeup. My favorite pressed powder is Cover Girl Clean pressed powder. It goes on smooth, not to powdery like other ones, but not so smooth that it could be mistaken for foundation. Again, though, make sure you get the right shade for your skin color. You dont want to end up looking to dark or to pale.
5. Blush: Blush can do wonders for you. In the morning, if you feel tired, blush can make your face look so much more awake. If you have a pale complexion, like me, it can make you look more alive. It doesnt really matter what kind of blush you get, cream or powder, but make sure yu choose a shade that complments your skin. Also, if you have oily skin, you may want to steer clear of cream blush. A good powder blush to try is Cover Girl Cheekers( have you noticed how much i love Cover Girl lol) The shade I like most in this is rose. But just pick whatever you think works best for you.
6. Eyeshadow: This is my FAVORITE makeup product. You can create so many different looks with eyeshadow! To start with, you dont really need a lot, just the basics. Fisrt off, you need some kind of hightlight. I like white as a highlight, this comes in a lot of pallettes or on its own. Then you should have a gray pallette for smoky eye looks, ( I like Cover Girl Eye Enhancers in slate),and from there, just build using whatever colors you like best! Some great eyeshadows to use are the Jesse's Girl pallettes, whch are about 4.99 at Rite Aid, Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow pallettes,N.Y.C. Color Wheels, and N.Y.C. Eyeshadow wands. THere are sooo many great eyesahdows to choose from, you just need to decide what you like!
7. Eyeliner: Eyeliner is great alone, or with eyeshadow. You could choose from cream eyeliner, pencil eyeliner or liquid eyeliner. If your inexperienced, I would start with pencil, becuase you can have more control over it that then if you used liquid. Once your comfortable with that, feel free to experiment with liquid. Liquid can sometimes be more intense then pencil, which is great for dramatic looks. A really good, inexpensive, pencil liner is N.Y.C liner pencils. For liquid, my favorite is Prestige liquid liner. Another good one is Maybelline Line Works.
That;s it! Of course, there are soo many other makeup products that you can use, but these are just the basics to get you started. Feel free to let me know what some of your fave beauty essentials are!
